Paramparaa – The Tradition Continues…

In Chennai, a grand temple for Lord Hanuman

Lord Hanuman, an ardent devotee of Lord Rama, is venerated by devotees all over the world. It is believed that by worshipping Lord Hanuman, one gets knowledge, strength, name and fame, bravery, strong body, and good oratory skills.

Multilingual actor Arjun Sarja is a staunch devotee of Lord Hanuman. His lifetime ambition was to build a grand temple for Ram Bhakt Lord Hanuman. The dream was realised recently.

The Hanuman Temple built at Gerugambakkam in Chennai was inaugurated recently. It was a dream come true for the actor after he finished the 15-year-old project.

Amid chanting of Veda mantras, the temple was inaugurated at a ceremony attended by Arjun, his family members and friends. The attendance was restricted as the inauguration took place during the COVID times. However, the event was live-streamed.

The beautifully decorated temple houses a 35 feet tall idol of Lord Hanuman in a sitting posture. The idol weighs about 140 tonnes.  It is reported that the idol was carved by a team of craftsmen led by Karnataka sculptor Ashok Gudigar.

In 2005, Arjun performed the groundbreaking ceremony of the temple and the foundation stone was laid by Pejawar seer Vishwesha Theertha.

In a video, Arjun said, “My dream of constructing a Hanuman temple has finally come true after many years. I thank god for choosing me and my family to build this divine, monumental temple. And a big thank you to everyone for gracing this event. JAI SHREE RAAM.”

Arjun’s wife, daughter Aishwarya and Dhruva Sarja among others attended the event. The actor posted a few pictures of the pooja event on social media.
