Dear editor, Odyssey, a Chennai’s leading lifestyle store of books, gifts, toys and more hosted the launch of “Essence Resonate”, a collection of poems in English by the Dad-Daughter duo Sundar Rajan and Neeraja on Saturday the 5th July ’25, being the wedding anniversary of his parents.
Sundar Rajan, a chartered accountant by profession is a published poet and writer by passion. He is an avid photographer and a Nature and animal lover.
Neeraja, MS, works in the healthcare industry on the lab bench. She has a passion for all forms of art, from painting to music and a soft spot for babies and animals.
Swami Jnanaswarupananda, the Chief Guest from Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, released the Anthology. The first copy was received by Mother/Grandmother of the poet. Swamiji at length dealt with a couple of poems of Neeraja based on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda to which he had replied to her through poems. He also regaled the audience through a poem in Tamil, which he had penned.
The Guest of Honour, Mr. Sankar Ramamurthy, schoolmate of Sundar Rajan, a multi-faceted corporate leader and HR Consultant, brought a lot of cheer and energy into the gathering. He brought alive his exuberant school days in his free flow word portrayal. He also broadly analysed the poems between the covers in a lucid fashion.
Neeraja, present online from San Francisco shared her journey on Arts, read out a poem and on request from the audience, sang a keertana, to the delight of all. Ms. Uma Vangal played the role of MC to the T. Ms. Padmini delivered the Vote of Thanks. After a photography session, the curtains came down on an entertaining evening with lingering memories to ruminate.
