Paramparaa – The Tradition Continues…

ANNAKUDA UTSAVAM TO BE CELEBRATED IN KAPPUR VILLAGE ON 9.2.25

The age-old Sri Lakshmi Narayanan Thirukovil (temple) authorities would be celebrating its ‘ANNAKUDA’ utsavam on February 9(nine), this year at 10.00 am in the village Kappur, adjacent to Villupuram district in Tamil Nadu. This festival is celebrated in our temple every year in the month of ‘Thai’ after performing Theerthavari. All are requested to seek the blessings of ‘Perumal’ and ‘Thayar’. Its significance has been mentioned in Srimad Bhagavatham.

Those who are willing to participate in the utsavam are urged to contribute to their maximum extent possible, since the well-known temple is in need of adequate funds for its development in due course. Needless to say, small drop makes a ocean. The people who desire to participate in the utsavam are urged to remit the amount to the following address:

Kappur Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal Temple Kaingarya Trust,

                A/C No: 60152010047765

                Canara Bank,

                Mylapore Branch,

                IFSC Code:  CNRB 000973

The devotees are also requested to inform Sri K.S. Gopalan at Mobile No: 9600163805 and Ms Padmasini Rajagopalan at Mobile No: 9994860040 after remiting the amount at the above address.

It may be recalled that the fabulous Sri Lakshmi Narayanan Thirukovil (temple) is situated on the banks of the Thenpennai river, where the Divya Kshetrams(holy temples) of Thirukovalur, Padhur and Parikal are reminiscent. The temple is visible about ten kms from the Villupuram Highway, where the significance of the calm and quiet village of ‘Kappur’ is located. It is pertinent to note that for several centuries, the residents of Kappur have been worshipping at “Sri Lakshmi Narayanan Thirukovil” with renewed vigour and utmost enthusiasm.

The temple stands on eight grounds of land, which portrays the almighty Sri Lakshmi Narayanan in the posture with Thayar (the goddess) seated on his lap with utmost pride. The devotees are also getting a god-sent opportunity to offer worship of Utsavarmurthy (Sri Varadarajan with Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi Thayars), Sri Chakrathazhwar, Sri Vedanta Desikar, Sri Garudazhwar, Sri Anjaneyar, Sri Adhivan Sadagopan, and Andal, reverred as “Choodikodutha Chudarkodi” by the devotees.
