The fabulous Sri Lakshmi Narayanan Thirukovil (temple) is situated at the village Kappur, adjacent to Villupuram district in Tamil Nadu. It is important to bear in mind that on the banks of the Thenpennai river are the divya kshetrams(Holy temples) of Thirukovalur, Padhur and Parikal. The Lakshmi Narayanan Thirukovil (temple) is the centre of attraction on the banks, about ten kms from the Villupuram Highway, where the significance of the calm and quiet village of ‘Kappur’ is located. It is worthwhile to note that for several centuries, the residents of Kappur have been worshipping at “Sri Lakshmi Narayanan Thirukovil” with renewed vigour and never-ending enthusiasm.
The temple stands on eight grounds of land, which portrays the almighty Sri Lakshmi Narayanan in the posture with Thayar (the goddess) seated on his lap with utmost pride. In this well-known temple, the devotees have the blessing-in-disguise, as they are also getting a god-sent opportunity to offer worship of Utsavarmurthy (Sri Varadarajan with Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi Thayars), Sri Chakrathazhwar, Sri Vedanta Desikar, Sri Garudazhwar, Sri Anjaneyar, and Sri Adhivan Sadagopan.
