Paramparaa – The Tradition Continues…

Navaneeta Krishna Dashakam

Through Sri Narayana Prasad (or by the grace of Sriman Narayana) Krishna, though you are in a foreign land (or far off from my mind), seem to charm me today with the butter (in your hand) in the dola.

Salutations in abundance to this form of Krishna of yours, which was propitiated very well by the 45th Jeer of Ahobila mutt (Sri Narayana Yatindra Mahadesikan) and gifted (to the bhagavatas of the USA) for the welfare of the whole world.

We chant namo namah to you, Balakrishna, who is very close to the heart of Shatakopa (Nammalwar) and who has been glorified in his stuti by Swami Desika.

We chant Salutations to you, with broad and expanded eyes, a shining face and lustrous gentle smile.

There arises a lot of happiness when we see that Thiruvaradanam is being performed in abundance to you (even) in a foreign land by able Bhagavatas in accordance with tradition.

Alas, there arises a sense of jealousy in me when I look at the butter in your right hand – what punya did it perform to get there even?

The highest form of good you are, a navanita yourself, present hidden inside the pure hearts of your devotees, which is akin to a milky ocean, and which is brought out through their prabandhas (when their emotions were churned).

Let this divya darshana of yours along with Azwars and Acharyas change my mind, alas! a dark forest, to brindavana (a forest of tulsi, so that you would wander)

It is indeed your grace that this murti of yours (here) is very much the same as that of the one worshipped in Sri Sannidhi.

This form of Vasudeva with a peacock feather in his crown and with one leg fixed (the other one is slightly bent depicting a gentle forward movement) bestows all forms of auspiciousness to us.

This stuti of Krishna, who rejoiced in stealing butter, has been brought out from the mind of Sreeram through the grace of the remover of afflictions of Samsara.

(Composed by Dr.Sreeram Jaganathan Setlur, disciple of Sri U.Ve.Dr.S.Padmanabhachariar, Srikaryam of Sri Ahobila mutt)
