Importantly, on the banks of the Thenpennai River, are Divya Kshetrams (Holy temples) of Thirukovalur, Padhur and Parikal. The temple is the centre of attraction on the banks, which is situated about ten kms from the Villupuram Highway, where the significance of the calm and quiet village of ‘Kappur’, would speak for itself.
