Alathurai Siruvalur Setlur Ubhaya Vedanti, Dr. Sreeram Jaganathan, is the Founder and Director of Sree Ramanuja Vidyalaya, a veda patasaala operating on the suburbs of Chennai. Dr. Sreeram is a Sanskrit scholar in Srivaishnava Sampradayam and trained under the tutelage of U. Ve. Dr. S. Padmanabhan Swami, Sri Karyam of Sri Ahobila Matham, and U. Ve. Sri E. S. Mukundachariar Swami, Hyderabad. Dr. Sreeram also has an MBA (Finance) and an undergraduate degree in Physics.
Following his MBA degree, Dr. Sreeram had an illustrious career in ICICI Bank for 4 years and in TCS for about six years. During his tenure at TCS he had taken a transfer to Hyderabad where he met Sri Mukundachariar Swami who inspired him as a true follower of Srivaishnava Sampradaya. Subsequently, Dr. Sreeram’s career had taken him to several destinations in Europe on various assignments and was becoming very successful in the corporate world.
After returning to India in 2008, with the blessings of Divyadampati, Dr. Sreeram quit his job in TCS in 2009 with the sole aim of returning back to the sampradaya and serving the sampradaya. He had a young family to support and meagre savings. With stretched financial resources, he completed his MA and M.Phil in Sanskrit at the University of Madras. Later he completed his PhD in Sanskrit under the guidance of Sri U. Ve Dr. S. Padmanabhan Swami. Since then he has dedicated himself to the service of Srivaishnavism through vedic lifestyle and teachings.
Currently, as a founder of Sree Ramanuja Vidyalaya, Dr. Sreeram teaches and oversees the management of a veda patasala. Under a short span of a few years, the patasala has grown rapidly with about 10 teachers/acharyas and about a dozen students. The patasala offers both Vedic and English education free of cost to boys who have undertaken upanayanam. The patasala has also started hosting Veda and Sanskrit competitions to recognize and encourage students.
Dr. Sreeram is also an Associate teacher/acharya at the Madurantakam Patasala where he teaches Sahitya and English. He is a consultant at Krishnamacharya Healing and Yoga Foundation. In addition, he is an author of shlokas, stotras and poems. He also founded a new goshala located about 75 km from Chennai.
